Exciting! We are up and running!

It is so exciting to have the website and blog up and running. I’ll be honest, I felt a little rusty and with several calls to GoDaddy, (who gave me phenomenal support by the way) I was able to muster through it.

On June 1, I’ll be photographing our very first survivor! Katie from Makeup Your Face will be doing her hair and makeup and Victorian Crow’s Nest will be hosting her shoot.  Our first survivor is Michelle and she is a stage 4 survivor, she’s also a Nurse Practitioner.  I’ve known of her for a couple years now and I’ve watched her battle with cholangiocarinoma with grace. Cholangiocarcinoma is a bile duct cancer and Michelle has spots on her lungs, liver, brain and bones. She has truly been a trooper and seems to constantly be facing trials and despite it she just barrels forward and takes it all head on… and still manages to smile. Her family is near and dear to my heart and it makes me so happy that I can honor Michelle in some small way.

On June 13, I’ll be photographing Colleen a Stage 2 Breast Cancer Survivor – I’ve known Colleen since right after my battle began. She managed to get through the chemo and surgery ok, but it was her reconstruction that really gave her a run for her money. She has been through countless surgeries, some within days apart. Katie from Make Up Your Face is also doing the hair and makeup for Colleen’s shoot and Morning Glory Farm will be hosting her shoot.

In July, I’ll be shooting Cindy from Cindy’s Hope Chest. Cindy has been a shining light throughout my battle. She has helped me countless times with therapies, house cleanings, lawn maintenance and mostly just emotional support. Jackie Greene from Next Level Makeup will be doing Cindy’s hair and makeup and I’m still working on a venue for her shoot, as soon as I have a date, I’ll be on that.

In August, I’ll be shooting Pam – a stage 4 pancreatic cancer survivor. Pam has been battling for awhile and despite her recent therapy, she is back at work. She is a kind soul with a young son… and she deserves this opportunity! Jackie Greene from Next Level Makeup will be doing Cindy’s hair and makeup and I’m still working on a venue for this shoot as well.

I hope you are as excited about this as I am! Using my talent to be able to give back to these ladies, is just so incredibly rewarding. It truly nourishes my soul!

I can’t wait! I hope you enjoy!
